Displacement switches
Polymer paste replaces metallic surfaces in rotary and sliding switches.
A copper layer is applied under the carbon contact to ensure constant resistance values when tapping the slider at various positions. Depending on requirements, it can be circular or a straight line. An intelligent circuit layout makes it possible to affordably combine a wide variety of applications on the smallest amount of space.
Printing contact surfaces with a conductive polymer paste passivates the copper surfaces and ensures a consistent, low-level contact resistance over the life of the contact.
This contact resistance depends e.g. on the properties of the slider (geometry, contact pressure etc.) and is typically <20 Ω.
